Get started¶
allez is a Python package. Installing it brings its dependencies with it, the Fabric CLI ms-fabric-cli among them.
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ and
pip. - git on
PATH. allez reads the current branch from it, andteardown --orphansusesgit ls-remote. - A Fabric identity: your own account on a laptop, a service principal in a pipeline.

Credentials
allez has no credential code of its own. Every Fabric call goes through fab, as whoever fab is signed in as: you on a laptop, a service principal in a pipeline (pipeline setup).
Next¶
The guides add allez to a fabric-cicd repo one feature at a time. Read them in order; stop when you have what you need.
-
1. Migrate from fabric-cicd
Keep your
config.ymlandparameter.yml. Add a rootallez.ymlwith the deployment order, then preview it. -
2. Hooks and overlays
Run a notebook or refresh a model around a publish, and split one workspace's publish into ordered parts.
-
3. Branch workspaces
One workspace per sub-folder for each feature branch, created, filled, connected to git and deleted after the merge.
-
4. Cross-workspace references
Name another workspace by its folder with a
$allez.*token, and check every id withallez audit.
